PERSONAL STATEMENT Although not a minimalist, I spend a lot of time cutting out unnecessary detail, going for simplicity in design and strength of construction, and the best quality of finish compatible with the materials being used. My main influences tend to be contemporary designers and architects, although I have great respect and admiration for the work of designer / craftsman from around the world. After a childhood spend on the family farm in mid Worcestershire, where I am now lucky enough to have my workshop, a spell at Stourbridge Art College, studying Fine Art and Sculpture was followed by several interesting career moves before turning to furniture making, an ongoing learning process that always presents new discoveries and challenges. My interests include cooking, hill walking and music; I play trumpet in an 8 piece band that aims to combine modern jazz with danceable world rhythms, and is available for bookings! I also work with a friend, Peter Harris, on Kinetic Art projects; one of these can be seen working at Huntingdon Hall, Worcester. I am an exhibiting member of the Worcestershire Guild of Designer Craftsman.WHERE CAN YOU SEE MY WORK Venues for 2007
